My doctoral research focuses on China’s participation in maritime trade during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. I aim to comprehend cross-regional maritime interactions through the lenses of social and economic dimensions. By delving into these exchanges, my study seeks to chart the evolution of Guangzhou as a pivotal trading hub within the framework of early globalization. Also, I am intrigued by the diverse array of goods involved in these transactions.
